CHÁ QUENTE #153

Desculpem lá, mas a culpa é do Francisco, do Alexandre e do Guillermo Forchino:
Green City Denmark is on a commercial basis Denmark’s national and international showcase for energy and environmental solutions. Green City Denmark is organized as a limited liability company with more than 250 shareholders - companies, municipalities, counties, and institutions etc. from all over Denmark and we have an international network of co-operation partners both within the public and private sectors. The main purpose is to market Danish expertise within the field of environmentally sound production and sustainable solutions.
Two major factors strengthened the willingness of the urban area to develop a large scale policy of non polluting fleet: the need for necessary enhancing bus image among local population, as pools showed that it had been left aside in comparison with the modern tram, implemented in 1985. And the necessity to encourage alternative fuels while being in a position to diversify energy sources. The objective is that by the end of 2005, public transport service will be assured by non-polluting vehicles representing 70% of provided kilometres and transporting 90% customers.
CIVITAS is co-ordinated by cities: it is a programme “of cities for cities”
Cities are in the heart of local public private partnerships
Political commitment is a basic requirement
Cities are living ‘Laboratories’ for learning and evaluating
